You, O LORD, Are A Shield About Me

We live in a difficult and dangerous world. It’s good to know that the Lord God Almighty is watching over us. “But You, O LORD, are a shield about me, my glory, and the one who lifts my head.” Psalm 3:3

The LORD is a shield about me. Think of that. I am protected by an almighty shield. Nothing touches me without God’s permission. “For it is You who blesses the righteous man, O LORD, You surround him with favor as with a shield.” Psalm 5:12

The LORD is my glory. The God who shields me is my salvation, my rock of strength and my refuge. “On God my glory and my salvation rest; the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.” Psalm 62:7

The LORD is the one who lifts my head. My God takes me into His house and lifts me up to a place of safety. “In the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock.”

“And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the LORD.” Psalm 27:5,6

Yes, I will sing praises to to my God — my shield, my glory and my loving Father who has adopted me and taken me into His own household.
